Just Then
by Dee
JUST THEN
at that moment, i fully understood that which
an early traveler into strange lands felt,
standing in awe at the vista before,
high on the crest of towering heights,
to see, as the first, the expanse of valley below,
resplendant in beauty, sunstreaked and verdant,
the majesty of such a natural wonder to behold.
just then, as you lay bare your slender form,
slowly shedding each piece of superfluous clothes,
meeting openly my heated gaze, offering all to me,
more humble than i'd ever felt before, breathless
was i, made so by the lush virgin splendor of you.
my own desires and intent became merely secondplace.
i vowed then, as recompense for this gift, you to offer
the safe harbor of my newly discovered heart.
i reverently knelt, this precious new world to explore.
