Weathering

Abide within my heart and home
within these arms,
and warm my days and nights
against the sigh of wind
that each year brings.
'Though bones feel winter's cold,
abide within the circle,
safety drawn with permanence,
not chalk too soon erased,
arrivals and departures canceling.
Abide, my love, not for a time,
but for all time,
and be with me
through weather foul and fair.
Let me but look around
to find you there.
