People Out There
There are people out there,
loud people,
definite in their wants.
Ambitious.
Voices ordering up life
like a pastrami on rye,
choosing from a list of coffees
longer than my heart's desires.
Arms raised, demanding attention,
aspiring to taxicabs as to success.
And me?
Easier to stay home
than return to it.
