Pushing Love
Pushing love to the outer borders,
I hope to find peace
among the shattered remnants,
above the scattered flowers.
Putting love beyond my attention,
and holding forth
about some subject boring
for its distance from you,
pitting love against the daily confines
of work and food and sleep,
of functions that hold no meaning
beyond the emptiness they fill,
pushing love to the outer borders,
I hope to discover peace
and find only the fiery emotions
that you inspire.
